We are grateful to God for how He has changed lives. These stories are a testament to the difference that communities can make when we come together to create lasting change.
"Looking back, I can see that God has always provided a path, even when I’ve fought Him on it…
Jessica’s childhood led to her being pregnant and giving birth at the age of 14. Another baby came a few years later.
Using drugs led to Jessica's incarceration. After her release from prison, she was able to get her kids back and met a pastor who regularly invited her to church.
In time, Jessica attended the church and married a godly man. After the birth of their child, financial struggles led Jessica to visit Beginnings Care. A kind volunteer helped answer their prayers for baby food and formula. In another visit, Jessica met a peer-counselor who provided emotional support, which encouraged Jessica to stay on track.
Jessica and her husband now reside in a different Michigan community where they both serve on staff at a church.

Sophia and John loved little Tyler*, but figuring out the new schedule and duties was creating a lot of conflict in their relationship.
These young parents began the Foundations: Building Solid Relationships Program at Beginnings Care for Life Center, which equipped them to better understand each other and begin to work through their conflicts. The lessons really made a difference for them.
By participating in weekly lessons, Sophia and John were able to earn items that they needed for the baby, including diapers, bedding, a car seat and even John's favorite attire for little Tyler: John Deere clothing.
As a result, Baby Tyler is healthy and growing strong. He is well cared for by a mother and father who love him and who are able to give him what he needs. This includes an emotionally safe environment, where each is free to communicate their needs and to resolve conflict in healthy ways.
"It helped us to communicate with each other when it comes to the baby—to be able to work as a team. We are communicating way better than before."
